It's Not ALL About Pumpkin
While pumpkin could certainly be considered the most popular of its family, it’s important to note that it’s not the only delicious squash available in the fall. True, we are inundated with pumpkin breads, pumpkin cinnamon rolls, pumpkin lattes and more. But there are other delectable squash options for the picking.
Whether it’s a savory squash ravioli, or a sweet squash based dessert, there are numerous tasty recipes available for you to give squash a try. I’m not advocating to abandon pumpkin entirely, (I’m a sucker for a delicious pumpkin pie!) but not only can you discover some new recipes, but also try substituting a different type of squash in your traditional pumpkin recipes, to see how the texture and flavor change.
Below is a list of some of my favorite pumpkin alternatives!
Butternut Squash Ravioli (from Delish)
Winter Squash Lasagna with Brown Butter Béchamel (from Good Housekeeping)
Acorn Squash with Mixed Grain Stuffing (from Martha Stewart)
Spaghetti Squash Carbonara (from Rachael Ray)
Roasted Delicata Squash with Apples and Sage (from Love and Lemons)
Butternut Squash Winter Spice Cake (from The Spruce Eats)
I hope you enjoy all the tastes of fall this season, and don’t forget the squash!
