Prepared with Love
For many of us, the holidays are the perfect excuse for eating delicious and decadent foods, many of which we may not indulge in at other times of the year. Whether you share a big breakfast or brunch on Christmas morning, do a formal sit down dinner mid-afternoon, or opt for drinks and hors d’oeuvres in the evening, there are some favorites that are pretty hard to pass up!
There are two standards I remember from Christmas morning. Sausage, Egg and Cheese casserole and Sour Cream Coffee Cake. Once you have those with a cup of coffee or tea, you can handle rambunctious 4-year olds tearing through gifts ANY day!

Christmas “dinner”, was a formal late lunch affair on the years we visited my grandmother. Either Turkey or Ham with more sides than were necessary, but every one of them delicious!

Recently I was headed to a holiday cocktail party and wanted to bring something festive and somewhat healthy. I came across this from Eating Well and it was a big hit!

And it wouldn’t be Christmas without all sorts of treats! From rum balls to gingerbread men, Yule logs to Christmas sugar cookies, the day was made for the sweet tooth! Another one of my Grandmother’s treats, the Peanut Butter Roll!

I wish you a tasty and very, Merry Christmas!
