Sweet and Savory Sides
While the turkey and stuffing are usually a main stay of your Thanksgiving table, where you can really get creative is with the sides. I grew up in a family that was all about tradition, which I love and appreciate to this day. Almost every year we had the same sides (mashed potato, turnip, butternut squash, cranberry sauce and green bean casserole). These are truly still some of my favorite autumn comfort foods.
But as I’ve gotten older and as Thanksgiving changed quite a bit during the pandemic, I’ve found that I like to experiment with some different, but equally as pleasing side dishes. I’ve gathered some of my recent favorites for you to try at your Thanksgiving dinner!
Roasted Carrots (from Well Plated)

Cauliflower Casserole (from Cozy Apron)

Grilled Asparagus in Dill Butter (from Better Homes & Gardens)

Smoked Chili Scalloped Sweet Potatoes (from Food Network)

Royal Broccoli Souffle (from Taste of Home)

Whether you prefer savory or sweet (or like me, want to try a little of each!) you won’t be disappointed with these decadent recipes!
