What do you do in February?

What do you do in February?

Let’s face it, unless it’s your birthday, or you’re REALLY into Valentine’s Day, or you believe the groundhog when he doesn’t see his shadow and go back into his hole, what is there to do in February? Especially here in the northeast; we’re still very much in the heart of winter, it’s not likely we’ll see a Crocus for at least another month, and unless you revel in outdoor sports like skiing or snowboarding (I do not), it seems there is not much to do.

So I bake. Cookies, bread, muffins and more. There’s nothing that gives me more joy when I’m looking out the window at a foot or two of snow, than the process of creating something savory or sweet and the smell of that tasty treat permeating my kitchen.

We have a couple more weeks of February, and a few more weeks before the calendar tells us that March 20th is the first day of spring. So I’m sharing some recipes that will fill your kitchen and your heart with happiness while you wait out February.

Dipped Ginger Snaps (from Taste of Home)
 Apple Crisp Cookies (from food.com)

Chocolate Peanut Butter Skillet Cookie (from Gimme Some Oven)

Raspberry Oat Loaf Cake (from Ramshackle Glam)

Carrot Tea Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting (from Martha Stewart)

To Die For Blueberry Muffins (from Allrecipes)

Banana Bread (from Simply Recipes)
