Cheese Over Chocolate
If you’re like me, cheese is your go-to for just about anything. Breakfast? How about an asparagus and bacon omelet with crumbled Feta? Lunch? Sliced turkey on seeded bread with a Dill Havarti, toasted. Snack time? Fresh Mozzarella, tomatoes and basil do the trick.
Cheese comes in so many delicious textures and flavors that the opportunities are really endless. And yes, I can’t lie, if given the choice, I will choose a piece of cheese over a piece of chocolate 9 times out of 10.
Unless you have an intolerance to cheese and dairy, it’s hard to imagine not incorporating cheese into your diet. It’s packed with calcium and contains other necessary vitamins and minerals. Just be careful not to over do your portions, as some cheeses are high in fat and/or sodium.
Think about it, you’re entertaining and whether it’s old friends or new neighbors, hosting them for wine and cheese is a great way to reminisce or learn more about them. Your kids are fussy eaters? Throw some cheese on…over broccoli, chicken, potatoes…whatever it is, my guess is, they’ll eat it with some cheese on top.
If your knowledge of cheese is limited to a slice of processed American in a cellophane wrapper, I recommend you do some research and discover the wonderful world of Brie, Gruyere, Gouda, Parmesan, Asiago, Gorgonzola, Roquefort and many more!
